Emergency Control Organisation (Wardens) Course

The objectives of this short course, obtained through both face to face theory and practical exercises is to ensure that participants can implement emergency responses in the workplace to a range of possible emergencies, as considered in AS3745 -” Planning for Emergencies in Facilities”.

  • Establishment of Emergency Control Organisation within the workplace
  • Raise the alarm in the event of an emergency discovered in the workplace
  • Have a basic understanding of the duties and responsibilities of wardens
  • Making decisions about people’s safety during workplace emergencies
  • The range of emergency situations which may occur within the workplace
  • Emergency Communication skills
  • Safety techniques for search and rescue operations within the workplace
  • Location, identification and use of essential services within the workplace
  • How to conduct evacuation drills and maintain ECO skills

Who should attend

This training session is usually of four hours duration and is essential training for any staff who are to be part of the workplace ECO. Any designated first aiders in the workplace should attend as they form a vital part of the ECO. The course is face to face theory based, with a workplace walk through to identify essential services on site.
